Homestay in Ottawa, Canada
My home is the perfect location for anyone working at the Civic Hospital, attending Carleton or Ottawa U, or looking to access the bike paths along the Ottawa River or Rideau Canal. Steps to Otrain, bus stops, Little Italy and Chinatown.
I am offered a large (Master) bedroom, either furnished or unfurnished to a mature, responsible guest. I have a senior Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and a sweet cat as well, and occasionally foster other dogs. I am a school social worker, so out of the house weekdays during the school year and off summers. I work some evenings as well. My home has two washrooms, both are shared. I have a full washroom upstairs and a powder room in the basement. I do ask on week days between 6 and 8am that guests refrain from showering at this time, as I have flexible start times for work and need to use the upstairs washroom in the morning.
My house is cozy, and has a furnished living room with a big TV and sofas and laundry in the basement. The very comfortable backyard includes a bbq, cozy furniture and a hot tub.
Guests are welcome to use whole house, and are asked to clean up after themselves, and to ask before having company. The kitchen includes a high quality coffee maker, Vitamix blender, and all the necessities. Basic food items are provided (ie. milk, cream, condiments, butter, coffee, etc). Full grocery access/some meals can be discussed for an added fee. A bi weekly housekeeper cleans the main areas of the house.
I am in my 40's and know Ottawa well, I'm happy to give info/recommendations to really enjoy the Ottawa experience. I only host one Homestay guest at a time, so the house is often very quiet, and the shared basement living space is almost always available to watch TV, relax, etc.
